boyhood

BOYHOOD is a little bit of a cinematic masterpiece. It follows the life and growth of Mason (Ellar Coltrane) shot over twelve years. Shot entirely on 35mm film, director Richard Linklater (of the Before films with the one and only Ethan Hawke) has achieved a wild amount of success with a project that is simply unprecedented in film. Winning Best Picture Drama at the Golden Globes and nominated for SIX Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Supporting Actress and Actor for Patricia Arquette (who WON) and Ethan Hawke. I am so happy for all the recognition a film like this has received. I HIGHLY encourage you all to see it.

If you were born in the early to mid 90s like myself, this film will remind you of everything that made your childhood what it was, and maybe even change your perspective on your life thus far. I know it did for me.
