My lovely ladies Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway looked stunning on Sunday night and are official Oscar winners!!!!!
I couldn't be more happy for them, and are both wildly deserving and humble! Ah, and they just happened to be my best dressed for the night. I am so overwhelmed with pride particularly for Annie and Daniel Day-Lewis, who I picked months ago as favourites to win, and a lovely surprise by Jennifer Lawrence's win... she is so effortless in her talent and that's what makes it so damn incredible!
I was hoping Moonrise Kingdom win Best Original Screenplay, but a worthy opponent in Tarantino took home the Oscar for Django Unchained. And I literally SCREAMED when Searching for Sugar Man won Best Documentary Feature!!! I actually watched this documentary a few weeks ago before I knew it was nominated, because its subject, musician Rodriguez, was extremely popular in South Africa in the 1970s, and my dad was many of thousands of fans that Rodriguez himself never new about, as explored throughout the film. It is truly billiant. I highly recommend it!
Each and every year the Academy Awards is such an inspiring, emotional production for me to watch, as an aspiring actor/filmmaker, watching my idols in their prime, receiving the highest of awards in the film industry.
And of course the red carpet is always a thrilling experience, seeing the world's best, beautifully crafted, high fashion gowns worn by some of the world's most iconic artists.
The Oscars. One day, kids, one day...
